DNA "ALLEGED" LIST - PLEASE READ

It is imperative that this list be considered and handled with discretion.

The situations pertained in this list are considered "alleged".  The list is sent to individuals at special request or when a situation is found where this information may be pertinent.

The use of this list should require due diligence when considering potential interaction with person(s) or agency(ies) listed herein.

This list has one sole purpose: to prevent harm to any animal!

This list is not to be used to harm the reputation of any particular person or organization; therefore, it is suggested that if you encounter anyone on this list that you take heed and that IF you make a decision not to have any interaction with them do not engage in lengthy explanations, simply decline and depart.  Do not become a part of the problem by further spreading accusations that may not have been fully investigated.

Whenever possible, Pryor's Planet does investigation to ensure that the information is from a reliable "end source".  The information may be in part or in whole of what was presented to Pryor's Planet with the more information provided in order for the user to make a sound judgement.   When these instances are found invalid, erroneus, or conjecture they will immediately be deleted.  If found "convicted" or are substantiated by media, legal brief, etc that make them public records, they will become part of the Open DNA list.

Some on this list are deemed "disposable pet owners" (DPO) by the animal community because they fail to take FULL responsibility when adopting a pet and fail to make every effort possible before taking the alternatives of "ridding themselves" of what they consider a "nuisance".  Some people have good intentions but have failed to learn the true responsibilities of caring for an animal.  There is no reason to sully their reputations or treat them with animosity, if you choose not to adopt to them, simply decline do do.  If you adopt to someone be responsible and discuss the responsbilities with them so they may be fully aware.

Many of these alleged situations are considered to be "adopt with caution":

  • Aaron and Ingrid Davis (O'Fallon/St. Peters, MO) - DPO
    Alleged situation:

Reportedly "got rid" of 2 dogs for reasons: Hyper and chewed too much.  Also gave away 3 year old cat because "it did not like their toddler" and Ingrid reportedly stated that "she didn't like cats anyway" so was not even agreeable to adjustment training.  On same day as ridding of cat they adopted a pure-bred Lab.  Three years later they are looking for another kitten.  It is believed that they will try through PetSmart
  • Sarah Carmona, (Sherman Oaks) - DPO
    Alleged situation:
Approx Aug 06 a black Pom (Coco Bean) was placed with MS. Carmona after a perfect application and home check interview by a rescuer.  Sep 06 rescuer was contacted by Ms Carmona requesting that Coco stay with her while  Ms Carmona was on Labor day vacation.  She was declined and given local vets boarding information. Rescuer was later emailed that Coco had housetraining issues.  The next day an email that she was moving and needed to return Coco.  (on her application was " I would never ever give up my dog!)   Coco Bean was picked up by Rescuer but Ms Carmona was unable to elaborate on the date of her move, etc.  It is believed that it was false information and that Ms Carmona will try to adopt another dog and that she should be a DNA because she cannot commit.
  • JEFF GORDON in VAN NUYS (Sherman Oaks border)
    Alleged situation:

    During adoption interview:
AFTER QUESTIONING HIM ON HOW HE WOULD DISCIPLINE THE DOG:
"He used this as an example:  If the dog reached up on the table and grabbed a whole chicken HE SAID
he would take whatever was left of the chicken and smash it in his face and then hit the dog in the head with the chicken! Then he would KICK the dog out the door and leave him outside for a few hours!"

It is highly recommended not to adopt to this man.

  • Kerry Brown 802 redbud lane Longview TX 75604
    Alleged situation:

    Hispanic man.

WANTS PITBULLS, Tried to adopt a pit from a private individual in NY. SENT BOGUS MONEY ORDERS FOR THE SHIPPING.

Longview, TX local shelter owner approached by man.  Checked him out and found out from bank that man's money orders were FAKE.

THANK GOD THIS MAN DID NOT GET THIS DOG!  The owner of the dog has alerted the police in Longview Tx.
and they will call when the man is arrested.

It is highly recommended not to adopt to this man.
  • Unidentified man calling from (573) 773 prefix, MO
    Alleged situation:

Man called person in OH regarding adoption of their dog.  Even after being told the dog had kindey failure and on special diet and undetermined life span the man inquired in adopting her for breeding--Unthinkable!

It is highly recommended not to adopt to or from this man.  He apparently is willing to travel (MO to OH) and willing to breed a dog that is ill!

  • Greg and Lori Conforti, Reseda, CA  - DPO
    Alleged situation:

This family filled out two apps.  One said the truth that they dumped their 9 year old pit in a shelter.  The other app said the pit died of natural causes.  Lori tried to say her mother in law has dementia and filled out the app!!!  (Yeah right)  I told her I wanted the number to her vet and owner of the home. She never called me again.

    Alleged excerpt from application:

    req_#ofDogsLast5Years?: 2
DispositionofDogsLast5Years?: Landlord discovered his insurance did not allow pit bulls of which I had 2. One was a puppy which I brought back to the breeder, the other was my 9 yrs old for which I could not find a rescue to take and had to bring to the dog shelter, there is a very slight chance that he will be adopted.
  • PEGGY VASK, Palos Verdes, CA posted 07/06
    Allegedly situation:

"She adopted a cat from Family Adoptions who checked out the home.  After they left, she put the cat in the car and drove it to a horse corral.  Three weeks later a neighbor found the cat's head.....obviously a coyote area.

To put any cat in obvious jeapardy is inhumane, but this tame sweet cat had no chance at all.

This woman is a big deal horse person and is looking to manage the Pony Club.  She will probably try to get more barn cats, so we need to be on the lookout!"
  • Jennifer Leary, Montgomery County, NY posted 07/06  - DPO
    Alleged situations:

"...has two pugs in her home now. One of whom she is ‘crate training’ by leaving in the laundry room in the basement with the lights off. "  Pug stated to be approx 10 months old.

" took in a foster puggle and kept her in a cat carrier.  She then dumped that puggle at the Humane Society saying she was ‘aggressive.’  The pug soon after died.

Note:  that the information provided Pryor's Planet contained conflicting information that the pub could not walk and needed rehabilitation / and that it could walk and needed no rehabilitation but both accounts contain the alleged action of needlessly dumping of a foster dog.

This case is recommended as "consider carefully".
