Dempsey's Journey
Come along for the journey with Dempsey on his road to recovery & the good life! Dempsey has not had an easy life so far. A good hearted person was able to get him away from his current situation but then he was taken to a shelter that wasn’t even going to give him a chance and scheduled to put him down on 7/17. Two rescuers heard about his story and were able to get him out of the shelter. Dempsey had a lot of damage to his left ear so it needed to be removed. He was also neutered at the same time. So instead of no longer being with us on 7/17 he was sitting pool side that evening with his current foster family enjoying himself! The surgery was a few weeks ago and Dempsey is healing & feeling better. At this time we are trying to fatten him up as the vet said that he could gain about 5 to 10 pounds. They also said that he is very healthy and in great shape. They feel that he is roughly 3 years old. Dempsey has several scars on his body that we are giving him supplements for that is really helping to grow his hair back. When he originally came to his foster home, he had a lot of bald spots on his head but as you can see from his photos, they are disappearing. He appears to be housebroken, loves playing with his toys and knows basic commands such as “off” (instead of no), sit, stay and come. Due to his playfulness he should go to a home with older children only. He will require a fenced in yard so he can have his privacy since he shouldn’t be around other animals. Breed experience is required & serious inquiries only, please.

All this sweet boy wants to do is give kisses and be around someone that will love him back!
Dempsey will be traveling at the end of August-beginning of September to a sanctuary in Texas. They are a rescue group that specializes in the Pit Bull breed and are very successful in finding them the best possible home. We are raising funds for the travel expenses that we will incur.
